|Agar Malwa District became the 51st district of Madhya Pradesh on 16 August 2013. It was carved out of the existing Shajapur district. The town is situated along the Indore—Kota SH-27 highway. The District Agar-Malwa is a part of Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh. It is situated in the western boundary of the state.It is a part of Ujjain Division. It is a important agriculture district in State and present in Malwa Plateau agro climatic region of Madhya Pradesh. It is situated between 230.06 and 240.19 North Latitude and 75.41 and 77.02 Longitude. It is about 453 ft above the mean sea level. It is surrounded by Ujjain and Ratlam in the south, Rajgarh and Shajapur in the east. The northern boundary is formed with Jhalawar district of Rajsthan.
